“Bitch I’m Fabulous” is an expression used to convey self-confidence and a sense of superiority. Usually superimposed over images of animals or people preening, the phrase is used to shut down an argument, in a similar vein to haters gonna hate and I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

Origin

The first use of the phrase “bitch I’m fabulous” online was on September 15th, 2007, when Blogspot[1] blog bitchimfabulous published its first post. The first image macro featuring the phrase was a photo of a pomerian puppy and was uploaded to imgfave[6] on January 3rd, 2011.



Spread

The hashtag #bitchimfabulous[2] first appeared on Twitter on November 6th, 2010 in a Tweet by @MeggzzBxtch[3].




@MeggzzBxch used the hashtag again on November 23rd, 2011, and on December 8th, 2010, before it was used on Twitter by a second user, @MoisesAreRed[8] on December 15th, 2010.

On November 27th, 2011, an image of a dog fluffing its fur with the phrase superimposed over it was uploaded to WeKnowMemes.[7] As of March 2014, the image has been shared across social media over 3,900 times.



On November 9th, 2012, the Facebook[5] page “Bitch, I’m Fabulous” was created. As of March 2014, the page has over 1,000 likes. On November 12th, 2012, YouTuber SimGretina[4] uploaded a video featuring Club 69’s song “Diva” titled “Bitch I’m Faboulous.” As of March 2014, the video has gained over 92,000 views.
