The Fairly Odd Parents in an American animated children’s show which airs on Nickelodeon. The show follows the life of Tim Turner, an elementary school student who has two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda.
History
The Fairly OddParents premiered on Nickelodeon September 4th, 1998. As of September 2014, the show has run for nine seasons and aired over 150 episodes. The series has aired three live action movies A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! (2011), A Fairly Odd Christmas (2012) and A Fairly Odd Summer (2014), which all starred Drake Bell as Timmy Turner.
Premise
Timmy Turner (voiced by Tara Strong) has to deal with his clueless parents, his evil babysitter Vicky (Grey DeLisle) and his evil teacher Mr. Crocker (Carlos Alazraqui), but he manages with the help of his magical fairy god parents Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee) and Cosmo (Daran Norris). Though they are able to grant all his wishes, their magical intervention often causes unforeseen problems.
Reception
The Fairly Odd Parents has earned a rating of 7.3 on IMDB. The show was nominated for five Primetime Emmy’s winning one in 2005 for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. It was also nominated for seven Kid’s Choice Awards.
