About
Hyadain’s One-sided Love-C (Japanese: ヒャダインのカカカタ☆カタオモイ-C, Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C) is an opening theme song for the Japanese TV animation series Nichijou.
Since Nichijou’s TV animation series began to air in April 2011, its opening movie and song inspired many people, and became the subject of many fanfics, parodies, remixes and MAD videos on Nico Nico Douga (NND).
Origin
A TV animation series of Nichijou produced by Kyoto Animation began to air on April 3rd, 2011. Its opening song was written and sung by Hyadain, a Japanese music composer. He got this opportunity through the popularity of his many works (such as Western Show) on NND, and this song was his debut single for a major record label as Hyadain.
The official promotion movie of this song was uploaded to YouTube by Hyadain himself (shown below, left), and an opening movie of the animation, produced by Kyoto Animation, was also uploaded to YouTube and NND (shown below, right).
Spread
Partly thanks to Hyadain’s widespread popularity on NND and Kyoto Animation’s well-made animation as well as their previous works such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star and K-ON!, each video soon gained much attention among NND users. People who liked this song and movie immediately began creating fanfics including musical remixes/covers for the song and parody videos for the opening movie.
Another reason for some people’s high motivation towards making fanfics was an online contest for a promotional campaign by a record label that was held from April 27th to May 21st, 2011.[1] So, many of its singing covers, dancing covers and playing covers were created to participate in this contest because its winners could get a chance to collaborate with Hyadain in his next work, but most of them were pure fanfics.
As of March 2013, the amount of fanfics, MADs and parodies for this song is more than 900.[2] They are also uploaded to YouTube.[3]

Illustrations
A scene in the op movie where main characters are standing in a line is also a popular subject for parody illustration on the Japanese illustrators community pixiv.[11]
TMA’s parody
A Japanese porn video production company Total Media Agency (TMA), which is famous for their many parody porn videos for popular animes, released the video called Hinichijou (非日常; lit. Extra-ordinary life) in August 2011. Though it didn’t use the original audiotrack, the video naturally included the spoofs of Hyadain’s music video and the anime’s opening movie reproduced by porn actors. This video below is a comparison of the original and TMA’s parody made by a NND user, which has gained more than 600,000 pageviews on NND.
