At the time of the game's release in December 2024, the anticipated and hyped-up arrival of such content became a prevalent subject of jokes and memes on social media, with early 3D animations using a model of the character Squirrel Girl arriving within days of the video game's release. The trend has been compared to and generally considered inspired by 3D pornography based on models from the 2015 hero shooter game Overwatch.
